The Shubert Theatre in New Haven stands as an iconic symbol of theatrical excellence and cultural significance. Since its opening in 1914, it has played a pivotal role in shaping the American theater landscape, serving as a launching pad for countless Broadway-bound productions. Its legacy is one of innovation and creativity, having hosted the premieres of legendary works such as "A Streetcar Named Desire" and "The Sound of Music." Beyond its artistic contributions, the Shubert has been a beacon of community engagement, enriching the lives of audiences through its diverse programming and educational initiatives. As one of the oldest continuously operating theaters in the United States, the Shubert Theatre's legacy continues to shine brightly, ensuring that its impact on the world of theater endures for generations to come.
When making a new brand identity for it’s 110th anniversary, I wanted to make sure every visual element conveyed the cultural legacy of Shubert and it’s place in the New Haven community.
